Yes, I’m cringing about the title too but it works.
Some of you may have noticed that my return to the blogosphere didn’t go as planned. I have a few reasons for that but the most chief among them is that one of my little sons broke his arm!
Yep, the second day into school, he fell off the monkey bars. Let me tell you, that phone call from the school is not one I ever want to have again. I’ve got to give it to them, they were cool as cucumbers over there (I would have been hysterical) but lest you think that they were not compassionate, I got there and learned otherwise. There were four older woman, all of them doting and loving on my son. When we left the school, all of them made my lil’ dude promise to let them sign his cast
For a while there, we were worried there wouldn’t be a cast in the near future. Due to the nature of the break, the doctor wasn’t sure if my lil’ guy would have to have surgery and there was no way to know until the swelling went down. Thankfully, we got the good news today and now my little man’s arm is safely ensconced in bright orange wrapping.
Hopefully we’ll only have 4 weeks of the cast and then it’s back to high jinks and debauchery. =P In the meantime, my son will be a rockstar in class, fully prepared for the masses to add their names to his arm of fame. We’ll send him armed and ready with sharpies.
Aside from my obvious relief at his wellbeing, where’s the silver lining in all this mess? As soon as we got home, my son asked me to do the honors of breaking in the cast.
Let’s just say that for a minute there, I was the one who felt like a rockstar.
Until next time,
p.s. I am trying to catch up with your blogs. If you haven’t seen my comments yet, expect them shortly. It’s taking me longer than I hoped for. Thanks for being patient, guys.
p.s.s. I quite forgot that this is my 100th post for DoQaI (Dreams of Quill and Ink) and I will be doing a giveaway but not yet. Stay tuned.
