“Dad always thought laughter was the best medicine, which I guess is why several of us died of tuberculosis.”
--Jack Handy, “Deep Thoughts,” Saturday Night Live
My husband and I were going over our calendar for the next few days and making sure our schedules jived. When he asked what some of my plans were, I told him that this weekend I’d be going to a writers meet and greet.
We moved on, discussing kid’s schedules and appointments that we penciled in on the calendar. I left him to it and busied myself with getting kids ready for bed. When I walked back into the kitchen (where we keep our dry-erase calendar) this was waiting for me:
I really love that man.

Oh yeah, that guy's a keeper!
ROFL!
Awesome.
Love it! I hope you get lots of steak.
Ha! Love it.
Have fun at your "meat" and greet!
Husbands are just the best comedy sometimes! I love it! :-)
Humor is the best medicine!
That is so cute, and I hope your "writers meat" goes well.
What a HOOT! At least he knows how to make ya laugh.
I want to meat and greet some writers. Is this an invitation only thing?
Now that's funny. it's like something my honey would do.
Oh brother. I hope you have lots of fun "meat"ing people. And hey maybe you will get some steak out of it...Maybe.
That sounds like fun. Meet N greet in St. George, huh?
I love it when my husband makes me laugh at his silly sense of humor. Because it's certainly different from mine. :) Love the art!
Isn't it great to find the "lid" to your "pot"? My husband is in the stake, and I teach a lot of inservices and stuff, but we are rarely on any actual assignments together. So when people meet us for the first time, they often express surprise along the lines of "I never would have put YOU with YOU!"
How wrong they are! We're perfect for each other. And it looks like you and yours are, too!
I think I'm going to that, too. :D
I hope nothing is too "fishy" at your "meat" and greet.
(You have a keeper).
Oh, that cute, punny man :D
and, it will be fun, I think.
Very "punny"! He reminds me of Neil, whose goofiness keeps me sane sometimes...
lol! That's great!
Mmm. That's my kind of Meat. The Red kind. What a guy.
That's awesome!
Teehee, love it when the husband/significant other has a great sense of humor!
hehe :) that's awesome! I'm also a Jack Handy fan. We are kindrid spirits. :)
LOVE Jack Handy!
And this post. Hilarious. Your husband is a keeper, I can tell...just from that drawing :)
He he!
Don't forget the steak sauce.
I think that's code for "wife's gone... grill steak!" just kidding!
He's a funny guy!

He didn't draw the "greet" on the side. Have him draw up some mashed taters, perhaps a salad :)
I love Jack Handy!
I love that! YOu could make t-shirts out of that. Cute!
Side note:
I was using our under the kitchen sink bleach bottle the other week. On it, my husband had labeled it in black Sharpie, "Bleaoch" -- it makes me smile every time I use it now.
It was SOOOO fun to meet you! FINALLY! Yay! Let's do lunch. :)
Love it! That's the only meat I'd care for! ;)
I have the feeling our husbands would totally get along. I can so see Bill doing something like that!
That is so funny! I think our husbands would get along very well. Love your blog, btw.
Awesome! Our husbands must be related!
